Probiotics
The benefits of Probiotics . .
.
-
Improves animal health and
performance.
-
Protects the animal from
disease—over powers bad microorganisms/pathogens like salmonella and E.
coli.
Improves growth.
-
Aids digestion and nutrient
absorption.
-
Reduces or eliminates
stress-related vomiting and diarrhea.
When to Use Probiotics
-
At Birth, the intestinal
tract of newborns is basically sterile, which provides the best opportunity
for introducing the beneficial bacteria found in Probiotics.
-
At weaning, a young
animal's digestive system is not fully developed to efficiently change from
(mother's) milk.
-
Handling, shipping,
vaccinations, grooming, weather changes and extremes, surgery and other
situations can put stress on the animal. This results in reduced appetite
and feed intake, which leads to possible weight loss.
-
Antibiotic treatment
often lowers the number or growth of Lactobacillus and other beneficial
microbes in the digestive tract. Probiotics assist in the replenishing of
these beneficial bacteria, resulting in a quicker return to a balanced
intestinal microflora.
-
Since many stressful situations
can not be anticipated, daily feeding of a Probiotic is recommended as a
preventative measure.

Digestive Enzymes
The Benefits of Digestive
Enzymes
These enzymes assist in the
breakdown of feedstuffs into smaller, more readily absorbed nutrients. By
aiding in the digestive process, dogs that may be predisposed to digestive
upset will have fewer problems.
The two enzyme-bearing ingredients in Eagle Pack are Aspergillus Oryzae
Fermentation Solubles and Bacillus Subtillus Fermentation Solubles.

The Benefits of
Dehydrated Kelp and Sequestering (SQMtm)
The Science of Sequestering
THE BENEFITS OF SQMtm
(Researched at the University of Minnesota)
Trace minerals (zinc, iron, copper, etc.) are
encapsulated in kelp protecting them from stomach bacteria and interfering
substances. Making minerals bioavailable to the animal prevents deficiencies.

-
In "A": SQMTM provided 100% of
the Vitamin A.
-
In "B": 30-40% of tyhe Vitamin A
was destroyed after several months. Vitamin A will be significantly less
than when the Non-SQMTM food was made. This applies to most vitamins.
SQM "SEQUESTERING" VERSUS
CHELATING
SQM metal ion SEQUESTERING and metal ion CHELATING are both processes which
protect trace minerals. CHELATION uses a tight uniform bonding strength while
SEQUESTERING uses light and tight bonding, which produces a "timed release" in
the digestive tract.

Vitamin and Mineral Fortified
All Premium pet foods are
fortified. However, Eagle Pack Super Premium Pet Food has three unique
vitamin-mineral advantages:
|
1 |
It is fortified at levels
higher than grocery-utilitarian brands, and higher than premium brands.
|
|
2 |
The patented SQM process is
unique to Eagle Pack, as noted earlier. |

Aqua-CTM is utilized as our
Vitamin C. |
Kelp
-
Provides 60 Naturally
Sequestered Nutrients
-
Kelp serves as an aid to a
healthy coat—it can prevent coat thinning and discoloration.
-
Our kelp, harvested from clean,
cold ocean waters, is a natural, highly bioavailable source of 60
sequestered nutrients. Kelp promotes a healthy coat and prevents thinning or
discoloration. It also benefits the immune system, and helps to prevent
infertility and premature aging.

Aqua-Ctm
AQUA-Ctm is manufactured from pure United States Pharmacopia (USP)
grade vitamin C. In this proprietary process the USP vitamin C is coated and
stabilized with various components to protect it from detrimental reactions.
This process is very effective in protecting the vitamin C and increases the
amount available in the pet food. Other "Esterified Vitamin C" products are
chemically modified. This type of vitamin C requires specific enzymatic
activity in the animal to utilize the compound.

Multiple Sources of Skin and Coat Conditioners
Fatty acids aid in developing and
maintaining good hair coat and healthy skin. They can reduce skin inflammation
caused by mosquito bites and skin abrasions.
Omega-6: Omega-3 Fatty Acids—The Benefits of Omega 6:3 Balance
For decades, research has shown that Omega-6 fatty acid (linoleic acid,
from sources such as corn and chicken fat used in Eagle Pack formulas), aids
in maintaining healthy skin and hair coat.
Most brands of pet food have satisfactory levels of Omega-6. If the dog's skin
has an open cut, an abrasion, or a hot spot, high levels of Omega-6 contribute
to inflammation.
Enter Omega-3 fatty acid. When the dog's skin has been violated, Omega-3 helps
reduce inflammation.
Research indicates that Omega-6: Omega-3 ratios should be between 5:1 to 10:1.
Eagle Pack formulas fall well within these ranges.
The Omega-3 comes from fish meal and fish oil. Flaxseed, another source of
Omega-3, is included in Eagle's Power and Original Adult formulas.

Prebiotics
CHICORY ROOT EXTRACT, also
known as endive and used in salads, further stimulates the growth of friendly
bacteria and contributes to a healthy digestive tract by driving out pathogens
like E. coli. It also aids in the reduction of gas, which is important to
large-breed dogs.
Beet Pulp
is a quality fiber and also a food source for essential good
bacteria in a dog's gut. These good bacteria thrive and crowd out the bad
bacteria that cause diarrhea and vomiting. Beet pulp also gently cleans the
intestinal wall, allowing more nutrients to be absorbed. Some state that
excess amounts of beet pulp artificially reduces stool size. We include only
optimum amounts that provide the stated benefits.

Yucca Schidigera Extract
For Reduced Stool and Urine Odor
According to tests conducted by Pet
Veterinarian Magazine, "yucca reduces stool odor by about one-third".
The extract is derived from Yucca Schidigera, a plant native to desert
regions. Selected extracts provide several benefits, including reduction of
stool and urine odor. Holistic practitioners consider it as a digestive aid,
and an aid in preventing arthritis. Improved yucca sources and our highly
digestible diets can reduce waste odor by up to 64%.

Feline Fiber Systemtm
(Eagle Pack Hairball Formula)
This exclusive fiber system aids
in the passing of hairballs through the cat's system. Our unique combination
of oat fiber, tomato pumice and beet pulp helps pass hairballs into the litter
box and not regurgitated on to the carpet. Each of these three fibers has a
specific function.
Oat Fiber: Human grade, as used in cereals, it functions similar to beet pulp,
but also creates a lubricating effect in the form of a mucillogenous
polysaccharide in the colon to aid in hairball relief. Oat fiber varies in
length (150-275 microns) and aids in their ability to hydrate the cat's
system.
Tomato Pumice: Slightly acidic it enhances the cat's taste and swallowing
action to carry excess hair into the stomach, reducing hairballs from forming
in the throat and being regurgitated.
Beet Pulp: Aids in encapsulating the hair, enhances parastolsis moving the
hair into the litter box.

Glucosamine Hydrochloride
Eagle Pack uses human-grade Glucosamine from a FDA-inspected plant, which
manufactures this material for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies.
Glucosamine rebuilds joint cartilage and improves joint flexibility.
