Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I feed my dog less food with Eagle?

Eagle is much more nutrient dense. There are no fillers or cereals, therefore the dog requires fewer cups but will still receive all the vitamins and nutrients it needs.

How long should I feed my puppy Puppy Pack?

If your dog is a large breed or large boned, Eagle recommends that you discontinue feeding Puppy Pack at 4 months of age. For small or medium breeds, continue to 12-18 months, without supplementing the food.

Should I supplement my dog’s food?

All of Eagle’s foods contain Custom Supplements to provide maximum wellness and nutrition for your dog.

What does “meal” as in “lamb meal” mean?

When water has been extracted from the meat, the end product is called “meal”. It is a highly concentrated form of meat. When meat is listed by itself, it still contains the water.

I feed my dog the Senior Care formula because it contains Glucosamine. How much Glucosamine is in a cup?

There are 41 mg. of Glucosamine per cup of food.

I want to switch my dog over to Eagle Pack. Should I do it gradually?

We recommend mixing it in over a period of approximately (1) one week with the food the dog is currently eating.

My cats need to be on a low ash, low magnesium diet. Will feeding them Eagle met these dietary needs?

Eagle's dry and canned food, both, meet these requirements, our canned food is one of the few to be approved with a "low Magnesium" label.

I read that your food contains sugar beets. Is it true this will turn my dog's coat red? Is the sugar harmful?

It is somewhat of a myth that beets will turn a dog's coat, however, we use white sugar beets so there is no danger of any red getting into the dog's coat. Also the sugar is extracted prior to adding it into the formula. Beet Pulp is an excellent source of fiber.
